Vegetable Gardening
Growing vegetables in your garden or even in containers is very
easy. Most gardeners know the time they spend in their garden is
very enjoyable and peaceful. Make sure your garden gets at least
6 hours of direct sunlight. Till the soil prior to planting with
a rot o-tiller or just use a shovel for growing a small garden.
Add compost to your garden.
You can check your soil
to see if you have good soil.
You can always add some sheep manure ( less smell ) or a couple
of bags of black top soil to your garden to increase the nutrients.
Never add commercial fertilizers, after all you will be eating your
vegetables.
Start your vegetable garden 2-3 weeks after the last frost. Vegetables
can be started indoors 6-8 weeks before transplanting outdoors.
Space the plants as far apart as recommended on the seed envelope.
If they don't mention how far apart. Try to imagine how big the
will grow and add a couple of inches. They won't produce as much
if they are fighting each other for sun water and sunlight.
